More than a simple site representative, we closely monitor work hours and parts cost and provide detailed audits of the MRO’s final invoice to ensure accuracy and validity of all charges. These may include man hour calculation errors, contract violations, double billings and charging for work that was never performed. Materials cost discrepancies, fraudulent billing for shipping & freight for customer provided parts, charging for mysterious materials and many other issues are routinely discovered and reported. JetGlobal will identify these errors and get them corrected, resulting in huge savings as opposed to possibly paying 35 to 40 percent more for erroneous charges.
Heavy or Small Maintenance Visits are managed by an experienced on-site representative as required. Discrepancies discovered during the visit and other non-routine items require approval from the operator before the MRO can begin a repair. Aside from the quality of work issues, the representative reports daily any possible cost overruns and closely monitors the schedule as delays to the aircraft release date could negatively affect operational flight schedules. Additionally, the work package maintenance records and associated tracking of life-limited parts must be properly documented during the visit.
Major MRO facilities will typically assign their own personnel from within the company to create the appearance they are the Customer advocate. However, supplemental staffing requirements or internal staffing shortages caused by reductions in workforce necessitate temporary outsourcing and who do not always have the best interest of the Customer in mind.
The JetGlobal Technical Manager assigned to monitor the maintenance will have over 20 years of experience in the Aviation industry. Our experience encompasses nearly every major operator’s Maintenance needs. We maintain valid passports and are prepared to travel internationally on short notice.
A Pre-purchase/Pre-buy inspection or sometimes called a PPI, a Condition survey or a Technical Appraisal is one of the first and most important steps to ascertaining the current aircraft condition and its operational history. It creates an overall picture from where you can formulate the LOI (Letter of Intent) and protect yourself against falling for what might seem to be a relatively good deal. If all is deemed to be in satisfactory condition or the issues found are not too cost inhibitive, we will make a recommendation to buy or not to buy and ultimately work with you and the seller to sign a Purchase Agreement.
Friendly Advice:
Don’t let emotions get the best of you even if you’re familiar with the Seller, have flown on the Aircraft, and believe it is the best deal you could possibly find, you need to know more about the overall condition and health of the airplane and the paperwork that comes with it. The best advice JetGlobal can give to a buyer is to have a licensed A&P mechanic evaluate the Aircraft from a non-biased perspective and list everything they find which could cost you money before you’re able to enjoy the pleasures of Aircraft ownership or decide to re-sale it to someone else.
Don’t allow the shop where the Aircraft has been getting its maintenance performed weigh in on the condition of the Aircraft. Use a shop that has no bias, opinion, or ties to the current owner and their wallet. Aside from the convenience of letting someone who may already know a lot about the Aircraft advise you on its condition they could be too quick to praise it since they are the ones who have been maintaining it. Even if you have to pay to fly the Aircraft to another airfield, it’s a good investment to receive an unbiased review.
It is smart to choose the shop you intend to use when you own the Aircraft unless it is the same one the previous owner used. Choose a shop that specializes in the type of aircraft you are purchasing. It can even be smart to go back to the factory to have this evaluation, they know their product better than anyone and would never let bias or relationships play a part in their evaluation especially with someone like JetGlobal on your side.
Take your time, don’t push the inspection or allow the seller to rush things along. Give yourself enough time to deal with unexpected issues that will pop-up, and don’t get hung up on the small stuff, let JetGlobal help you decide what to use as a negotiating item and which items are small enough to let slide. We’ve seen too many deals go sideways over the smallest of issues and we will be there to keep this from happening.
Remember there is no such thing as a perfect deal; you have to know what your limits are and we will guide you through every step. Buying an Aircraft is not like buying anything else, you typically can’t pressure the seller into paying for repairs unless it’s an airworthiness related issue. We will help you find the middle ground of reason with a clear understanding that perfect does not exist. Working with the shop, we will layout the level of importance and estimate the cost and time it may take to fix an issue. Don’t have buyer’s remorse, let us help you make sound decisions.
